MPA Montana Airway Beacon Resolution Updated: Saturday, February 4, 2017

The following resolution regarding the Montana Airway Beacons, was adopted at the MPA Board of Directors meeting on February 4, 2017:

Montana Airway Beacon Resolution

Whereas the FAA handed over control of 17 airway beacons in the 1960’s to the Montana Aeronautics Commission.

Whereas the Aeronautics Division has been maintaining said Airway Beacons ever since

Whereas it is understood that the Aeronautics does not have the staff nor the money to keep all 17 beacons operational

Whereas the Aeronautics has limited resources to fund all their projects in support of Montana aviation

Let it be resolved that the Montana Pilots Association supports the Montana Aeronautics decision to keep as many of the airway beacons operational as Aeronautics deems possible
