Mission Valley MPA Hangar Annual Christmas Party
December 16, 2016
Polson Elk's Club Polson, MT
It Is that time of year again and I hope you are looking forward to the annual Christmas Party. Friday the 16th is the date for another gathering of old and new friend, menu is be a choice of prime rib or wrapped salmon; it is just too good, so why try something different. Cost is $30 each. Bar will open at 6, with dinner at 7. At the Polson Elks Club.
This year, we will sing a few Christmas carols to celebrate the season, so it would be really helpful to have a guitar or piano accompanist if any of you are so talented.
After Thanksgiving, I will start working signups and collecting money. Feel free to call me, 270-2611, before I call you. Info: Trey Moran (406)270-2611 Author:Geanette Cebulski
December 17, 1903, is the date that the Wright Brothers made their historic first powered flight at Kitty Hawk, NC. On the 100th anniversary of that flight in 2003, EAA Chapter 517 and MPA Five Valleys Hangar jointly sponsored a Celebration of Flight dinner here in Missoula that was attended by more than 100 people. Every December 17 since then, we have continued to have a dinner on that date to celebrate the joys of flying.
We had hoped to have this year’s Celebration of Flight dinner in the new EAA hangar being built at the Missoula Airport, but we have just learned the hangar completion date has been pushed in to January. Since this year’s meal is being catered by Two Sisters, we will still have dinner at the airport, but the location now will be the new Homestead Helicopter hangar. There is ample parking available, no stairs to negotiate, and no airport security gate to deal with. More detailed information will be provided in an email to EAA 517 and MPA FVH members in early December.
In the meantime, we would like to get “a head count” of who is planning to attend this dinner. The meal will be served buffet style and consist of various Italian dishes. There will be a bar hosted by MPA Five Valleys Hangar beginning at 6:00 PM. Dinner will be served at 7:00 PM.
The cost is $25.00 per person. Please make your checks out to EAA Chapter 517, Inc.
If you are planning to attend, please send a short email to Sherry Rossiter, our dinner coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you are ready to send payment for the dinner, please send your check to Sherry Rossiter, P.O. Box 16446, Missoula, MT 59808.
