Dillon Airport Days
Dillon, Montana September 8, 2001
Dillon's annual and eventful airport days were Saturday Sept. 8th. The morning started by giving rides to the public. Even with the low temperature it was a fairly good turnout.
Reported Charlie MillerAt around 11:00, John Bagley showed up with Bob Hoover's old P-51 "Ole' Yeller". He talked to everyone as we all had a bite to eat courtesy of the local Kiwanis club. At 11:30 John took Ole' Yeller up and did some loops, 4 and 8 point rolls and some fast fly-bys. He landed. gathered his belongings and daughter and headed home just after noon. He had to be in Reno for the air races Sunday. After that, the pilots that were willing to try their skill...or luck, got into their planes for the bowling and spot landed contest. Beau Bradley was the only one to hit the pins, but was too low to qualify. T. J. Reynolds won the spot landing. Everything went well all day. There will probably be a meeting in October but if not, December will bring a Christmas party and a couple of presents. Photos by Bob Hollister
